Guadalupe River State Park: Special Spring Break events designed for children to explore nature. Tuesday, Storybook Trail, 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Bird in the Hand, 9 a.m.-noon; Thursday, Fishing 101, 9-11 a.m.; March 20, Creek Critters, 1-4 p.m.; March 20, The Mysterious Case of the Guadalupe Fledermaus: A Ranger Sam Mystery, 7:30-9 p.m. Free with park admission. Guadalupe River State Park: Prowlin’ for Owls, with park ranger calling, listening and looking for barred and other owls that inhabit the park, 7-8:30 p.m. Meet at amphitheater. Free with admission to park. Call 830-438-7653 or email craig.hensley@tpwd.texas.gov.

Saturday

Guadalupe River State Park: Park ranger will lead Bugs-R-Us, a catch-and-release program on bugs, from butterflies to beetles, 10-11:30 a.m. Meet at the amphitheater. Free with park admission. 830-438-7653.

Guadalupe River State Park: Park ranger will lead night hike to Honey Creek in search of bats, owls and more after presentation at the Rust House, 7-9 p.m. Free with admission to park. Call 830-438-7653.

Friends of Government Canyon SNA: Explore the Night Sky, viewing of Jupiter, Venus and more with the San Antonio Astronomical Association, 7-9:30 p.m., Government Canyon the State Natural Area, 12861 Galm Road.
